Ice Hockey Ice Cleaner
Need help with my Math problem.?
George is fascinated by the ice-cleaning machine as it scrapes the ice between periods at the hockey game. The hockey rink is a rectangle, 120 by 60 feet. The scraper cleans a 4 foot wide strip. If the machine starts at one corner and moves around and around the rink towards the center, on which trip around will it have half the area clean??
first the square feet…
120 X 60 = 7200
so half would be…
7200/2 = 3600
The first lap will be 120 + 120 +60- +60 = 360
The second lap would be 116 + 116 + 56 + 56 = 344 and 704 Total
The third lap would be 112 + 112 + 52 + 52 = 328 and 1032 Total
Keep indexing down each lap until the total = 3600

Top non ivy league schools in the United States?
Hello I have a perfect 4.0 GPA and want to go to college for a marine biology Ph.D however I want to spend 4 of those years on a hockey scholarship and the rest at Harvard. I would like a good school to transfer to harvard from, like is UMASS a good school or what are the best that also have D-1 Ice Hockey teams
UMass is okay. It’s definitely not the top non Ivy school in the US, though.
