Is Ice Hockey (UK) a good sport to take part in?
Hi, im 15 years old and very bored in what to do, i recently watched the winter olympics on tv and thought ice hockey looked very interesting.. i was wondering if i should try and find sumwer wer thy might do it? in the UK obviously, i live in the lancashire area, so if anyone knows any clubs nearby that will help alot? plus is it a good sport to do/ fitness etc, btw i cant ice skate, and ive never tried anything like this before? just a suggestion? or if you know any other sport clubs that do things more than once a week? btw ive tried football and the other stuff.. i just want something new.. thanks

Why does everyone in Canada love hockey?
I was born and I am currently living in Canada, and one might find it “un Canadian” for me not to like hockey. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate hockey and everyone has a favorite sport. But it seems that everyone in this country is so obsessed with it. What exactly is the fascination most people have? Is it because they get so hyped up over there favorite teams? Ive seen teenagers who actually cried because there parents wouldn’t let them tryout for house leagues.
I really don’t see the difference between it and other sports than the fact that its played on ice. So my real question is is what is so great and fascinating about this particular sport that gets everyone in Canada so worked up about?
I’m Canadian and I love this sport! Well, hockey was invented in Canada. Also, in many parts of Canada it can get pretty cold in winter, so many people probiky flood thee backyard and make a skating rink. So a lot of people play, when u play somthing, u want take another step and really get interested in it and so the watch people play on TV for fun or get some tips.

I’m talking about the materials to make like Ice Hockey skates i.e. to make them lighter and stronger, or baseball bats that type of stuff. Im thinking it would me materials engineering, but Im just want to be sure.
